"Is a caterpillar ticklish? Well it's truly my belief, that he giggles as he wiggles, across a furry leaf!"

Join us in a mini-puppet story adventure of the caterpillar's journey to become a butterfly! This little tale is complete with magical musical accompaniment. We'll open the story with some songs to sing a long. This story is a gift from Suncoast Waldorf School, and parent/ child teacher Connie Manson, with Peter Chin.

To prepare for the story, you can craft a shaker you can use for the sing-a-long!

To make shakers you’ll need :

o toilet paper tubes

o scissors

o tape

o stapler

o rice, corn kernels, stones or other small items.

o tissue paper torn or cut into pieces roughly 2" x 1", glue, small container, thick paintbrush or sponge

Decorate the tube--pour glue into an open container such as a baby food jar, and add a few tablespoons of water, stir with the paintbrush. Brush the tube with the glue/water mixture, then apply the tissue paper. Cover the tissue paper with more glue/water to secure it well to the tube and finish it nicely, like a decoupage.  Once you’ve finished decorating the tube, flatten one end and staple closed. Add some tape over the staples to make sure it is well sealed.

Carefully put one or two spoonfuls of rice (or other noise making items) into the tube, and then flatten the open end in the other direction – so one end will lie flat on the table while the other will sit up and down. Staple and tape the end closed.
