Drum Sermons: Folktales, Legends, and Myths from the Far Corners of Africa

Step into a world of rhythm, movement, and imagination with Drum Sermons, an interactive library program designed especially for children and families! This joyful and educational performance brings African music and folklore to life through child-friendly storytelling, energetic drumming, vibrant dance, and call-and-response songs.

Young participants will explore the rich cultural traditions of the African continent while learning the basics of African hand drumming in a fun and accessible way. With plenty of opportunities for audience participation, every child becomes part of the performance—clapping, moving, drumming, and discovering the heartbeat of African heritage.

Perfect for curious minds and active bodies, Drum Sermons invites children to learn through play, connect through culture, and leave inspired by the rhythms that live in all of us.

*Ideal for ages five and up. No prior experience needed—bring your curiosity and your energy!

**Younger siblings are only permitted in the program room if they are in a stroller or sling, ensuring their safety and containment within the designated area, according to child care safety guidelines. Otherwise, please feel free to remain with your younger child(ren) in the Children's Wing during the program.
