Youth Cupcake Contest Rules

  • Contestants must pre-register online only beginning January 6 on a first come, first serve basis. Contest is limited to 15 participants for ages 12 & under and 15 participants for ages 13-18. Tables assigned in sign-up order.
  • Cupcake set-up begins 1:30 PM on February 29. Chairs & 3’ table space is provided, shared with another baker on 6’ table.

  • Contestants must provide one full sized cupcakes for judging. Cupcakes for judging must be in a separate plate or container ready to be dropped off at the judges staging table with completed submission card. 

  • Additional small size cupcakes recommended for the People’s Choice Award. The more guests tasting your cupcakes, the better chance you have of winning!

  • Limit two entries only per participant. Please note names of both cupcakes if applicable. Please complete the provided submission card with description of flavor for judges and community of tasters.

  • Judging begins promptly at 2:00 PM. Winners will be announced approximately 3:30 PM.

  • Guests taste People’s Choice entries on a first come first serve basis. Ballots are .25 each. 4 votes for $1.00. Ballots collected until 3:00 PM for the People’s Choice Award.

  • JUDGING POINTS

    • Taste & Texture - 40 points

    • Appearance & Creativity - 35 points

    • Icing or Frosting - 25 points

  • Prizes awarded in the following categories:

    • PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS

      • First Place - People’s Choice:  $15 Award & Certificate

    • JUDGED AWARDS - FOR BOTH AGE CATEGORIES

      • First Place – Baker:  $15 Award & Certificate

      • Second Place – Baker:  $10 Award & Certificate

      • Third Place - Baker:  $5 Award & Certificate
